INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
Individual Counseling is a growth process through which individuals are helped to define goals, make decisions, and solve problems related to personal, social, educational, and career concerns.
COUPLES THERAPY
Couples Therapy is a means of resolving problems and conflicts that couples have not been able to handle effectively on their own. It involves both partners sitting down with a trained professional to discuss their thoughts and feelings. The aim is to help them gain a better understanding of themselves and their partner, to decide if they need and want to make changes, and if so, to help them to do so.
RELATIONSHIP COUNSELING
Relationship Counseling can offer a couple time and space to reflect on their patterns of behavior and to help them understand why they feel and respond the way they do. It can help them face past relational experiences which may be unresolved and which may be re-playing in their current relationship. At times, it is our learning in our own early family and childhood which may be getting in the way of our current intimate relationships.
PARENTING DIFFICULTIES
Parenting Therapy can be thought of as parenting help. Often short-term in duration, therapy sessions can include all members or just a single person within a unit, and the specific treatment plan will depend on each situation. Whether it is a conflict between parents and children, family trauma, or dealing with children with developmental, physical, or mental health problems, counseling sessions are designed to help parents and give them the support and resources they need to be the best caregivers possible. In parenting therapy, you will learn the tools you need to function effectively within your family and provide the love and support that your children need for a healthy and stable upbringing.
FAMILY THERAPY
Family Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that seeks to reduce distress and conflict by improving the systems of interactions between family members. While family therapists often seek to have all family members (affected by the problem) in the room, that is not always possible or necessary. What distinguishes family therapy from individual counseling is its perspective or framework, not how many people are present at the therapy session. This type of counseling views problems as patterns or systems that need adjusting, as opposed to viewing problems as residing in the person, which is why family therapy is often referred to as a “strengths based treatment.”
DEPRESSION
When you’re depressed, it can feel like you’ll never get out from under a dark shadow. However, even the most severe depression is treatable.
ADDICTION
Addiction Counseling is a highly specialized form of counselling that views serious and problematic use of a substance or behavior as far more serious as it being simply a symptom of underlying issues – although inevitably such underlying issues are present. The problematic and addictive elements of one’s life are assessed first and foremost. It is only after an appropriate evaluation of what is underway can a specialized treatment plan be developed that is intended to assist the individual in difficulty to achieve their goals for a better life.
STRESS & TRAUMA
Stress is often defined as the body’s response to the demands of life, though stress also involves emotions and the mind. It is the internal, conditioned reaction of a person to perceive external pressures and is experienced as thoughts and feelings as well as physical processes. A mental health professional can often help treat any difficulties experienced as a result of coping with high levels of stress.
Trauma Therapy provides a safe and confidential place for a person to talk to a professional about personal experiences, thoughts, feelings, or problems. People who go to therapy may have experienced a situation that that disrupts and/or impacts his or her thinking, mood, feelings, or ability to relate to others. A person may also seek out therapy because they want a neutral and safe place to talk about general life experiences. Many people seek out therapy: adults, youth, teens, even therapists themselves. Everyone needs somewhere they feel safe and supported.
ANGRY OUTBURSTS
Anger Management Therapy. A professional will often say that recognizing that you have a problem and seeking help is a very positive first step towards solving the anger issues. Typically, anger management therapy sessions last between four and six weeks, although they may take longer.
ANXIETY
Anxiety Counseling provides the treatment needed for a successful recovery from any of the major anxiety disorders, which include generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder and specific phobias.
